Heart of the Gardens Tour
Gray Line Tours is now offering a new tour for private groups only on a mini-bus with a step-on guide.
The tour begins next to the Mississippi River, and travels along the Esplanade Ridge, down Esplanade Avenue through Faubourg Treme and the mellow Bayou St. John area, with its historic houses and gardens such as the Spanish Customs House and the Pitot House.
Ride through City Park and stop at the New Orleans Botanical Garden, a fitting gateway to the city’s gardens.
We also visit Longue Vue, a magnificent city estate, and tour the 8 acres of beautifully landscaped formal and informal gardens that surround this Classic Revival mansion.
On our way back downtown our guide will highlight the extensive green rebuilding that has lifted our city up from the wrath of Hurricane Katrina.
